Just curious...what do you all use as a daily missal? I am thinking about buying a subscription to the Magnificat, as I find I like it a little better than Living with Christ (the prayers in it are pretty nice). However, there's also the option of just buying a daily missal...but they're pretty large and heavy...and with a baby on the way I'm not sure if I want the added cargo!
What ever happened to Missals being in the pews anyway...

Where I've been visiting has the missals in the pews. I have also subscribed to the Daily Office on iTunes podcasts, plus there's a site for it, dailyoffice.org.
That is odd that they do not have missals in the pews of your Church.
Usually they are donated by parishioners or the Church buys them.
I want to buy my own Roman Missal not because Church does not have them, but I think they become a family keepsake just as a Bible does. I have my grandfathers family Bible to pass down and I want something that was mine (other then my Rosary) to leave to my grandchildren or my daughters.
I need to clarify a little. There are (and I have noticed as well in other local parishes) missals for Sunday Mass. I am more talking in regards to Daily Mass readings, as well as the prayers from the Lectionary (opening, prayer after communion, the different Eucharistic prayers). I remember having monthly Missals in my parish as a kid, but seriously, I don't think I've seen one in ten years!
I love the Magnificat. it's paperback, it's light, and it's the perfect size to fit in my purse!
I've heard good things about the Magnificat. I've switched from "Living with Christ" to "The Word Among Us," which I think has really good meditations.
